Dear friends and fellow car collectors,

the 2012 season is now in full swing and we see continued price stability and even healthy growth in most collector car values. That is definitely more than can be said about the stock market. Classic cars have become investments. Some always were, but lately it seems that even "regular" older sport cars start to gain steam and require more financial commitment than they used too. While that is fine for those of us, owning or making a living selling them, more and more concerned enthusiasts ask me "where does this stop"? One used to be able to buy a decent 1970 Porsche 911T for under 20k not too long ago. Today, the same example will easily set you back twice that amount.

Is it crazy, or is it simply a question of economics and demographics?

I think the later. We have a growing base of people now in their 40's 50's and 60's that are now able to fulfill their dream of owning that car they drooled over in magazines when they were kids.
These cars came mainly out of 1950's through 1970's production. Obviously, supply is limited to what has survived or has been restored. It is easy to see why values climb.

Since 2008, we also see more people getting into collector cars to "park" or safeguard their money. Real estate, stock, bonds, funds, none of it seems very safe lately. So their financial advisers look for classic cars now. Could this be a recipe for disaster?

I don't think so. The market seems educated and the base of people in it is supporting the stability of the pricing. Will it continue to grow? Who knows, some cars definitely will, others may have reached a peak. As always, to have a good investment, you need to know when to buy and when to sell.

But perhaps way more important is this. As long as the classic car in your garage is putting a smile in your face every time you see it, if it makes your pulse go up when you start it and you continue to create memories with it, it is worth it!

This weekend is another big auction weekend in Florida. Millions will change hands. If you have a car that you are thinking about selling and you feel that the auction circus is not quite the right thing for you, please give me a call! Personal attention and full discretion is guaranteed. I am an enthusiast, just like you and I know how to market your car to our worldwide customers.

We are actively looking for top notch collector cars and we routinely receive top results for our clientele.

Quality, not quantity is our philosophy.

Please take a look at our website and see, how our consignment program will work for you:
