1970 Porsche 911E Original Paint-One owner!
Any Porsche, that has been enjoyed by only one single owner for more than 40 years is very special.
This car truly is a special car, a survivor with a perfectly documented history from new.
Its history started on December 12th, 1969 when it was personally picked up by its US owner in Stuttgart, Germany. The car still retains its custom license plates stamped by the German officials in 1969.
The documentation on the car is 2 folders thick and contains of the original bill of sale from Porsche including options list and dozens and dozens of receipts of over 40 years of careful maintenance. It underlines the single ownership from new and the total mileage of 74.250 miles.
The body is unmolested and rust-free and retains its original tangerine paint from the factory. All major panels including hood, roof, doors and fenders and the deck lid are original paint and in remarkable condition. In fact, the cars paint looks almost too nice to be original, but it is. We measured the car on over 100 locations and it is an original paint car except for very minor touch ups. Perfect gaps and shut lines all around and of course the doors “ping” upon closing as Porsche intended.
Tangerine (#2323) is among the most sought after colors for early Porsches and this one could not be in a more period correct color combination with its tan interior.
The interior is likewise un-restored and perfectly preserved. Apart from the obligatory little stress crack on the dash top, the whole interior including seats, carpets, headliner, door panels and door pockets are flawless. The seats are genuine leather (very rare!) and have the hounds tooth inserts. All controls and instruments are in proper working condition and without wear it seems. It even smells wonderful!
The engine was always correctly serviced, but has never been out of the car, there was never any reason to do so. It still has perfect oil pressure and accelerates through the gears effortless. In fact, driving this car reminds one, of why the 911E models are so popular among enthusiasts. With more mid range torque, this car is as fast or faster as an S in most driving conditions. The S can only pull away from an E when being driven above 6000 rpm.
The 5 speed gearbox performs flawlessly with tight shifts in every gear.
This 911E is a very unique find in today’s world of over-restored Porsches.
The car is not for everyone. We are looking for the right enthusiast who can appreciate a genuine, un-restored Porsche 911 the way they were built in the factory. Such cars come to market very rarely and are often traded from one collector to another.
This car is the right car for any serious collector of early Porsche 911s. A true survivor in remarkable condition and a worthy preservation class contender on a national stage.
Of course the car comes with its original and complete toolkit, jack and all books and manuals as supplied by Porsche.
