Mercedes Benz 560SL One owner!
We are excited to offer this all original, one owner, low mile 1988 Mercedes Benz 560SL.
For many years, 2shores has been offering selected, first grade examples of collectible automobiles. This truly stunning 560SL is one of those special cars!
The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is a grand tourer sports car manufactured by Mercedes since 1954. The designation SL derives from the German Super-Leicht (English: Super Light). The original idea was suggested by American importer Max Hoffman, who perceived a market for a toned-down Gran Prix car tailored to affluent performance enthusiasts in the booming post-war American market, which remains the primary market for the vehicles.
The SL designation was first applied to the 300 SL, often referred to as the "Gullwing" due to its gullwing or upward-opening doors.
The term SL refers to the marketing variations of the vehicle, including the numerous engine configurations spanning six design generations. All updated 86–89 models have the advantages of the more modern 4 pot brakes, larger discs, and suspension derived from the W124 sedan. The 560 SL was only sold in the United States, Canada, Japan, and Australia to compensate the reduced output of the 5.0-litres due to the stricter emission laws in these markets.
Our car on offer is a 1988 560Sl. The car comes from single California ownership and has been a second or third car all of its life. Bought new in Southern California, the car now resides in beautiful Northern California. Pampered and cared for by its owner, always stored indoors under a cover, this SL has only accumulated 53100 original miles and is completely authentic, down to the factory applied stunning original black paint.
The true California SL is 100% rust-free, has a full and complete service history and runs and drives fantastic! It comes with both tops, a brand-new Softtop and the factory Hardtop including stand and lift for the Hardtop.
Recent service just performed and ready to be enjoyed.
Original manuals and tools as well as two full car covers included in the sale.
