We are excited to offer this extremely nice, restored Austin Healey 3000 MK3.
For many years, 2shores has been offering selected first grade examples of collectible automobiles. This truly beautiful big Healey is one of those special cars!
The Austin-Healey 3000 is a British sports car built from 1959 to 1967. It is the best known of the "big Healey" models. The car's bodywork was made by Jensen Motors and the vehicles were assembled at BMC's MG Works in Abingdon, alongside the corporation's MG models.
During its production life, the car transitioned from an open sports car, albeit with a child-transporting 2+2 option, to a sports convertible. The 3000 sports convertible Mark III was announced in February 1964 with power increased from 136 bhp to 150 bhp by a new higher lift camshaft. SU HD8 carburetors replaced HS6 units. Power-assisted braking became standard instead of optional. The new car's fascia displayed its speedometer and tachometer directly in front of the driver. Upholstery was now in vinyl.
The Mark III BJ8 remained in production until the end of 1967 when manufacture of the Austin-Healey 3000 ceased.
Our car on offer is a 3000 MK3 BJ8, the 2+2 seater model.
The car was restored 12 years ago and shows extremely well. It only has 7100 miles travelled on the restoration. The restoration is documented with many photos and all receipts.
Finished in stunning black over black interior, the car looks simply gorgeous. Paint, chrome and stainless are in excellent condition. The engine and engine bay is clean and detailed and the car runs and drives fantastic.
A very nice, numbers matching example of the sought after and collectable BJ8 model with only three owners from new. Car comes with owner history and British Heritage Certification.
Please study all the photos closely to evaluate the condition of this car!
