1975 Ferrari 308 GTB Vetroresina Group 4 Stradale
This is the fourth 308 GTB built (VIN# 18729), completed in September 1975 and delivered to its first owner in Berlin in April 1976. One of approximately 450 Euro-spec Vetroresina’s built in lhd with dry sump, 4 carb motor and perhaps the oldest surviving of the breed.
These cars are not to be confused with US spec 308 Ferraris or even regular Euro spec 308s. The Vetroresina bodies are completely made of fiberglass and weigh substantially less than their steel siblings.
The 308 "Vetroresina" with dry sump is the first, the best, most powerful, and lightest of all Ferrari V8.
The 3 liter V8 develops 255 hp and driving this lightweight car is a true blast.
The car has had its motor completely rebuilt in 2009 with new forged pistons and heads converted to run on unleaded fuel; radiator recored with new fans; suspension re-bushed; new fuel, oil and water lines fitted; Birdman fuse box installed; wiring redone as necessary and original Dino space saver spare wheel sourced and fitted.
Serviced by regularly by a Ferrari specialist and backed up by a thick folder of receipts, this car is ready to be enjoyed. About 19k kilometers (12k miles) on the full rebuild.
This particular car has a period correct Zender body kit fitted and was brought up to Group 4 spec mimicking the Michelotto 308 GTB rally cars by the current owner during 2009 and 2010 including: New Stratos Group 4 rims (15 x 8" front and 15 x 12" rear with new Michelin TB tires fitted in October 2009, 215/50 front and 335/35 rear), Flared rear in Group 4 style to accommodate wide rear tires; ac removed (in a box will come with car) and modern radio removed.
