We are pleased to offer on behalf of one of our clients this carefully restored 1968 Porsche 911 S Targa.
Finished in its original and rare exterior color of Metallic Dark Green (code 62109) this extremely rare car looks and drives stunning. This car is 100% numbers matching as confirmed by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and as such, a true blue chip collectable 911.
The 1968 911S was never sold officially in the United States due to emission regulations. These cars were only produced in limited numbers for the European markets and are extremely rare to come to market in the US. Only 442 S Targas were ever produced for the model run, one of the lowest production numbers for any 911S model. 1968 further marks the last run of the short wheel base 911s, which among collectors are sought after for their purity in style.
The 2.0l engine was carried over from the 1967S producing a very healthy 160hp making these cars a blast to drive and listen to!
A very rare car indeed, this particular example has been carefully restored over the past 3 years using many of the original parts and not been driven much after completion. A complete restoration essay and numerous photos of the restoration are available on request. Please note, this car also has the ultra rare stainless steel muffler skirt.
The car resides with it’s 3rd owner for over 20 years here in Northern California and can be inspected with appointment in our warehouse in Auburn.
Please study all the photos closely to evaluate the condition of this car!
