1972 BMW 2002tii
We are excited to offer on behalf of one of our clients this outstanding BMW 2002tii.
The BMW 2002tii is one of the most popular and potent early 70’s sedan type sports cars. BMW built the 1600/1602/1802 and 2002 catering to families in 1970’s Germany and neighboring markets.
The 2002tii (for fuel injection) is a similar car visually, but with a very different temperament. A Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection was added to the 2.0l inline 4 and output was increased to a whooping 130hp, on par with the 1972 Porsche 911T! Along with larger brakes, better steering and suspension components, these cars performed very well and were highly successful in Rallyes and Touring Races in the early 70’s Europe.
Our example comes from a private collector and is in stunning condition. The car presents itself in period correct BMW’s “Golf Yellow” (color changed from red during restoration). The exterior and interior is in wonderful condition (recent 2nd place at a prestigious local Concourse event) and the car has a full engine rebuild with less than 5000 miles on it.
This tii comes with a factory equipped Golde sunroof and wider Alpina rims. The fenders are slightly flared to house the wider wheels. A few other tastefully done improvements are heated Recaro sports seats, a five speed transmission and blue tooth equipment.
It runs and drives very nice! Original Kugelfischer fuel injection still functioning perfect!
