We are pleased to offer on behalf of one of our clients this outstanding and rare Karmann “Notchback” Coupe.
The unique "Karmann Hardtop" or "Notchback" 356B model was produced in 1961 and 1962 only. The 1961 production run (T5) was essentially a cabriolet body with the optional steel cabriolet hardtop welded in place. The 1962 line (T6 production) was a very different design in that the new T6 notchback coupé body did not start life as a cabriolet, but with its own production design—In essence, part cabriolet rear end design, part T6 coupé windshield frame, unique hard top. Both years of these unique cars have taken the name "Karmann Notchback" These cars have a very classic and elegant look and were produced only in limited numbers for two years.
Our car on offer has a completely documented history. It is a true California car sold new and always remained in the state with only 3(!) enthusiastic owners in 53 years! The car is 100% rust-free and has all original body panels. The very desirable “Heron Grey” paint was refreshed in 2004 and is still close to perfect. The numbers matching Normal engine has been rebuilt in 2003 and has very few miles since.
Interior was done 3 years ago and changed to red from the original blue as per owners preference. This unique Hardtop Coupe presents itself in stunning and authentic collector condition. Full owner and service history with all receipts for all work ever done. Comes with Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
A rare chance to own a Karmann built Notchback Hardtop Coupe in fantastic colors and condition.
