We are excited to offer on behalf of one of our clients this outstanding 1968 Porsche 911L Sunroof Coupe.
This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a true one family owned classic Porsche 911. The documentation on this car is among the best we have ever seen dating back to 1967, when the initial order for Tourist delivery in Germany was placed.
The owner took delivery in Stuttgart in September 1967 and toured the car in Germany for a few weeks before shipping it home to the US. It has been his pride and joy for the next decades. The owner is a real enthusiast and has used the car as it was meant to be used. He drove it. The car has been maintained and for lack of a better term babied to the highest degree. Whatever needed attention, the car got it. Today, the car is owned by the son of the original owner, who spent many hours growing up in the backseat of this beautiful sports car.
The car presents itself in wonderful collector condition. One repaint to original champagne yellow a few years ago still shows like new. The interior is largely un-restored and kept in amazingly good condition. The rare (68 only) “elephant skin” door panels are like new, un-cracked dashboard, perfect seats and carpets.
The engine has about 70k miles on the last rebuild and it runs absolutely flawless with perfect oil pressure and expertly synchronized Webers.
Perhaps one of the most pleasing color combinations on early 911s, the champagne yellow compliments the lines of the car so perfectly.
The market for short wheel base Porsches has been very intense for a number of years now and this car represents a truly rare opportunity to acquire a completely documented, all numbers matching early Porsche 911 from original ownership!
Please study all the photos closely to evaluate the condition of this car!
