We are pleased to offer on behalf of one of our clients this rare Porsche 911 Carrera factory wide body Cabriolet.
In 1984, Porsche introduced the M491 option. Officially called the Supersport, it was commonly known as the "Turbo-look". It was a style that resembled the Porsche 930 Turbo with wide wheel arches and the distinctive "tea tray” tail. It featured the stiffer turbo suspension and the superior turbo braking system as well as the wider turbo wheels. Sales of the Supersport were particularly strong for its first two years in the United States because the desirable 930 was not available. The Cabriolet however is a pretty rare bird, only 111 made in 1985 and only 38 for California delivery!
This car has always been a California car in great, original running condition. The car is not a trailer queen and has been driven by all owners (5) as it is supposed to. At 103k miles, this Porsche is visually and mechanically in excellent shape and looks still very nice.
Finished in beautiful India Red over beige leather interior, this color combination is classic. The car retains some original paint while other panels have been subject to a high quality repaint to original specifications. Laser straight and dent-free body panels with factory gaps and shut lines all around.
The interior is nice with some light warping on the dash and some patina in both seats. Still very useable. The mileage has been recorded by all 5 owners with receipts for service and maintenance in a thick folder.
The car runs and drives well and of course we offer a pre purchase inspection on buyer’s behalf to have a 911 specialist go through the car prior to purchase.
Original tool roll, spare, jack, compressor and full cover included. Original window sticker still with the car.
Please study all the photos closely to evaluate the condition of this car!
