For many years, 2shores has been offering selected first grade examples of collectible automobiles. This two owner pre A Speedster is one of those offerings!
History:
One of the most desirable Porsche collector models is the 356 “Speedster”, introduced in late 1954 after Max Hoffman advised the company that a lower-cost, somewhat spartan open-top version could sell well in the American market. With its low, raked windscreen (which could be removed for weekend racing), bucket seats and minimal folding top, the Speedster was an instant hit, especially in Southern California. A total of 4854 speedsters were built (all years combined). It was replaced in late 1958 by the “convertible D” model.

Regularly enjoyed and meticulously maintained, the car was serviced for six decades by Frank’s Automotive in Sacramento. It has undergone two restorations over the years, with the last one completed in 1997. This is a wonderful, rust-free and accident-free example with numbers-matching body panels and exceptional long-term California history.
The original engine was replaced years ago with a 912-derived powerplant bored to 1722cc. The car is nicely dialed in mechanically and runs and drives amazingly well — responsive, tight, and ready for immediate enjoyment this spring season.
