1960 Porsche 356 B-Roadster (T5)

We are excited to offer on behalf of one of our clients this outstanding 1960 Porsche 356 B-Roadster.

For many years, 2shores has been offering selected, finest grade examples of collectible automobiles. This rare B-Roadster is one of those examples!

History:
In 1960 the 356 B “Roadster” convertible replaced the D model but the sports car market’s love affair with top-down motoring was fading; soft-top 356 model sales declined significantly in the early 1960s making the B-Roadster a pretty rare car in today’s market with only 561 examples produced in 1960.
Launched for the 1960 model year based on the redesigned T5 platform, the 356 Roadster was built with revised coachwork crafted by Drauz in Heilbronn.

Our car on offer was sold new on June 14th 1960 in Glendale CA by Porsche Allred Brothers to a Mr. Stanzell.

This gorgeous B-Roadster is finished in Signal Red with Tan interior. The paintwork is in immaculate condition with excellent brightwork and exterior trim and good gaps and shutlines.
The interior shows perfect and has the original VDO instrumentation, Roadster door panels, and recently upholstered front leather seats.
The undercarriage is solid and rust-free. The Porsche was part of a 50 car collection in Glendale and has always been services meticulously.

The current owner opted to install original Rudge center lock wheels with brand new tires recently, with less than 200 miles on them. The car comes alternatively with freshly powder coated and restored steel wheels with brand new tires.

The engine has been rebuilt in 2018, at 97,785 miles by Klaus Holthaus at NARW. They installed 86mm big bore pistons and aluminum cylinders. This included new exhaust valve guides, shorten intake and exhaust valve guides, install valve springs, new seats, and new cylinder head gaskets. One year later in 2019, Custom Classics by Aubrey in Lancaster, California was commissioned to reupholster the front seats and complete a full repaint in Signal Red.
The past owner has been able to enjoy this Roadster over 32,388 miles, many of which are attributable to the 1,000 mi events the Roadster has participated in. The car has participated in multiple California Mille Miglia, Colorado Grand, Arizona Copperstate, California Classic events, and various private rallies with the Petersen Automotive Museum. The car never failed on any of those long trips. It is fully sorted and would make a great addition to any collection! This 356 is ready to be enjoyed!
It comes with a jack, full tan cloth tonneau cover, spare, tool kit, Certificate of Authenticity, original service booklet, window sticker, original owner’s manual, and many years of service history.
